Abbey Window Campaign 2023
1. You already know that the Abbey is a peaceful and holy place.
2. The past few years the Abbey has made several big improvements to this holy & peaceful 60+ year old landmark.
Through your support in 2022, AC units were installed in all the Retreat Wing lodging/conference rooms.
3. However, to be the most energy efficient with the use of the new AC
units, the many windows in this wing need to be replaced.
- The current windows are not tight, sagging, and many have non-functioning/torn retractable screens.
- One of the biggest challenges year round are the huge amount of flies that find their way through these older windows.
- Windows that need replacing include all 1st & 2nd Floor Retreat Wing lodging/conference rooms. Also included are all Lower Level areas (kitchen, bakery, bathroom and hallway.)
4. A "$125,000“ Abbey Window Campaign” has been created. This project will include:
- Replacement & installation of 68 double-hung windows for all three floors in the Retreat Wing.
